How it Works
Makey Makey lets you make a connection between your creations and a computer. Build buttons, switches and circuits and use these to control instruments, games and other programs. You can even use Scratch to create your own programs that work with Makey Makey (here are some instructions).
To get started, see if you can control a piano or bongo drums by adding conductive materials to the Makey Makey. Communicate with the computer by completing a circuit between a button on the Makey Makey and an "Earth" connection.
If you get stuck, read THIS TUTORIAL on the Makey Makey website.
Makey Makey works with ANY conductive material. Including:
Pencil Graphite (Which means you can draw circuits that will actually work)
Fruit or Vegetables
Tin Foil
Human Flesh (yours)
Glue
Water
Wires (Old phone and internet cords work great)
Conductive Dough
Check out the Makey Makey website for project ideas.
The video below demonstrates some of what you can do with a Makey Makey.
